About Us

As most of us would have experience, there is a strong desire for PERFECTION in our crafts and lives. We spend years working tirelessly to find the place we feel most satisfied to expose our work, or who we really are to others.

This desire for perfection is often the same desire that hinders us from sharing our lives and our creations, our selves. This desire for perfection often prevents us from experiencing real connection.

Not Yet Perfect was created as a platform and a space to share and showcase imperfect things we’d rather hide away.

To break free from the never being PERFECT enough trap, and to have a space where it is acceptable to be content with our imperfections.

To liberate ourselves, and others, from our critical eyes.

Our Story

Birthed in 2018 around the dinning table of founder Lucy Aboagye Not Yet Perfect Ceramics Studio has organically grown in the past 7 year to become a ceramic sanctuary of calm, creativity and connection.

"I wanted to create a space where adults could come, leave the chaos and pressures of every day life behind and dip into a quiet, create space where they can learn and also reconnect with their true self"

The practise that is pottery offers a space to really let go, surrender to the creative process, to trust our selves once more and and enjoy the process. No forcing pieces to be perfect, but simply allowing ourselves to learn, be still and grow- all whilst feeling free to play, create and explore."

Pottery truely is a gift...

Born in Norway and raised in the serene surrounds of Western Australia’s South West, Lucy Aboagye is the founder of Not Yet Perfect.

After more than a decade working in the fashion industry—both in Australia and overseas—Lucy’s passion for creativity, community, and the transformative power of making led her to a pottery class that quietly sparked a new path.

What began in her living room in 2018 as a weekly gathering, affectionately known as Pottery & Wine Night, has grown into a thriving boutique studio offering soul-soothing workshops and inspiring masterclasses.

Today, Not Yet Perfect is a much-loved space for creativity, calm and connection—welcoming anyone seeking a moment to slow down and create with intention.
