Pottery Basics - Learn the Pottery Wheel (8+ years)

Description: Dive into the magical world of pottery in this exciting, hands-on workshop! Hosted by Not Yet Perfect in the bright and beautiful Heathcote ceramics studio, you'll discover the secrets of turning clay into wonderful works of art.

Get ready to learn everything you need to know about using the pottery wheel, including:

• The basics of the pottery wheel
• Preparing your clay for the wheel
• Centering your clay like a pro
• Shaping your clay into amazing creations

No experience needed – just bring your creativity and love for fun!

Materials Used:

• Stoneware clay
• Wooden and plastic pottery tools

Participants Take Home:

• 1 fired and glazed pottery piece
• Additional pieces can be fired and glazed for $20 each

What to Bring:

• An apron or towel (we’ll provide everything else!)

Workshop Duration:

• 1.5 hours

Collection Date:

• Up to 8 weeks after the workshop. We'll let you know when your pieces are ready to be picked up via text.

Tickets & Refund

Please select carefully when choosing your workshop date and time. We DO NOT refund or reschedule workshop bookings. If you are unable to attend a workshop, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person.

Firing

If requested for, all pieces made will be fired and glazed and ready for pickup a minimum of 8 weeks after the workshop date. All participants will be notified via text when items are ready for pickup.

Firing Fees

Firing fee of $20 per piece paid during your workshop covers the trimming process, glazing of your works and 2 kiln firings.

Pottery Breakage

In the unfortunate case were your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln, Not Yet Perfect do not offer refunds, as this is the nature of the firing process- pottery is a beautiful yet delicate process.While we take the utmost care to ensure all works are delivered in the best conditions, in the case were any ceramics breaks due to mishandling, you will be contacted by one of our team and a full refund of your firing fee will be offered.
