Ever wondered what it's like to create pottery on the wheel?

 That beautiful, fluid, and hypnotic movement of clay taking shape? 

If your curiosity is sparked, the Not Yet Perfect Beginner Wheel Work Workshop is the perfect experience for you, offering a delightful introduction to the art of pottery.

During this three-hour workshop, you'll be guided through the process of creating a set of 4 tumblers on the wheel. Learn the essentials of shaping and molding your pieces, from the initial design stage to the final product. This fun and therapeutic process is perfect for anyone looking to explore a new skill.

Wheel work classes are held at the Not Yet Perfect Studio in the Heathcote Cultural Precinct, Applecross. 

We welcome individuals of all skill levels to join this creative experience. Classes are kept small for an intimate expereice, and to ensure all guesst recieve the time and attention required to produce their pieces.

No prior experience is necessary – just bring your authentic self.

What You Will Learn:

  • Pottery on the wheel
  • Techniques for wheel work
  • How to make repeat peices

What You Will Get:

  • Clay and tools
  • Specification sheets for the planning & preparation of your pieces
  • 4 complimentary piece (Trimmed, fired & glazing for you included)
  • Additional pieces can be kept for a $20 charge per piece to cover firing and glazing (all work will be glazed in a glossy finish).

What to Bring:

  • An apron or towel

What to Wear:

  • Casual, comfortable clothes and short nails
  • Remove all valuable jewelry

Appropriate For:

  • Beginner (has had atleast one expereince on the wheel) to Intermediate

Terms & Conditions

Tickets & Refund

Please select carefully when choosing your workshop date and time. We DO NOT refund or reschedule workshop bookings. If you are unable to attend a workshop, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person.

Firing

If requested for, all pieces made will be fired and glazed and ready for pickup a minimum of 8 weeks after the workshop date. All participants will be notified via text when items are ready for pickup.

Firing Fees

Firing fee of $20 per piece paid during your workshop covers the trimming process, glazing of your works and 2 kiln firings.

Pottery Breakage

In the unfortunate case were your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln, Not Yet Perfect do not offer refunds, as this is the nature of the firing process- pottery is a beautiful yet delicate process.While we take the utmost care to ensure all works are delivered in the best conditions, in the case were any ceramics breaks due to mishandling, you will be contacted by one of our team and a full refund of your firing fee will be offered.
